COVID-19 UPDATE

Please be assured that Palmer and Duncan continues to provide the best service we can in the current circumstances. We continue to operate our usual opening hours during the week (8am - 7:30pm). From this Saturday, 4th April 2020, our Saturday hours will be reduced temporarily - we will be open 8am until 12 noon. Chantry vets will be kindly covering our calls from 12.

In line with ongoing advice from the Government, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and the British Veterinary Association we have to limit face to face contact with our clients to an absolute minimum.

Clients are no longer allowed to enter the surgery building.Euthanasia is the one exception we will make in allowing you to enter the building but sadly this has to will be limited to one person and it is very important to maintain social distancing.
It is vital that you inform us if you have been exposed to someone with Covid-19, if you have Covid-19, if you or someone you live with is vulnerable or you have travelled recently. Please ensure you have washed your hands, prior to coming to the practice and use the hand gels provided.

We are not currently able to carry out any routine procedures such as vaccinations and neutering. We will ensure your pet receives their vaccinations as soon as we are able. Should a restart be required there will be no extra cost for this.

We are only allowed to treat genuine emergencies on the premises - what classes as a genuine emergency will be at the vet's discretion.

We can offer telephone consultations and advice to ANY of our clients if you have any concerns at all and will be able to prescribe medication over the phone if deemed appropriate by the treating vet. We may ask you to send us photographs or videos of your pet relating to their condition.

We will continue to provide repeat prescriptions but please ask that you give us a week's notice rather than the usual 24 hours as deliveries from our suppliers have been reduced and are no longer on a daily basis.

For those clients attending the surgery for emergency appointments or to collect prescription medication please could we ask you to phone us from the car park upon arrival. We will then either collect your pet from the car park or deliver your repeat medication to you whilst maintaining social distancing at all times

Please could we ask that all payments be made by card over the phone. We are not able to accept cash at the moment.

If you have any concerns or worries about any of the above information please do not hesitate in phoning the surgery to speak to one of us. This is a very challenging time for the veterinary profession and we fully appreciate that all of the above is far from ideal but we have to do the right thing to protect you, our clients, and our staff. We thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.
